Electricity labelling simulator
FAQ
What is eletricity labelling?
Electricity labelling, which consists of presenting information to consumers about active energy supply offers, through the percentage contributions (mix) of the primary energy resources used in the production of electricity they consume and their environmental impacts, has the following goal:
- Differentiation of suppliers and their commercial offerings;
- Accountability of consumers for their consumption choices.
What are the origins of electricity?
- Wind - production of electricity by wind power plants;
- Hydroelectricity - production of electricity using the flow or level difference in watercourses, regardless of size and remuneration regime;
- Renewable cogeneration - combined production of heat and power, according to legislation in force, using non-fossil resources as fuel;
- Geothermal - production of electricity using geothermal resources;
- Other renewables - production of electricity from renewable energy sources, with the exception of wind, hydro and renewable cogeneration. Includes solar, wave and tidal energy and the use of biomass and biogas;
- Municipal solid waste - production of eletricity using municipal solid waste as fuel, according to legislation in force;
- Fossil cogeneration - combined production of heat and power, according to legislation in force, using fossil resources as fuel;
- Natural Gas - production of electricity using natural gas as fuel in combined cycle power plants (steam turbine and gas turbine);
- Coal - production of electricity using coal as fuel in steam cycle power plants;
- Diesel - production of electricity by diesel cycle generator sets that run on diesel or fuel oil;
- Fuel oil - production of electricity using fuel oil as fuel in steam cycle power plants;
- Nuclear - production of electricity using nuclear fission.
Where can I find information about the labelling of the electricity that I consume?
Suppliers should inform consumers about the electricity labelling using the following media:
- Invoice sent to customer;
- Website of the supplier with a labelling area;
- Standard contractual form for each commercial offer sent to the customer;
- Annual brochure sent to the customer.
Who is required to provide information about the electricity labelling?
The information should be presented by each supplier to their customers and potential customers.
What information can I find in the simulator?
The simulator is built based on the information reported by suppliers from the four previous quarters.
This is the information that must be provided to their customers, on invoices related to commercial offers.
The information included in the simulator, depending on the access date, is the following:
